Arab-American Activist Says Obama Hiding Anti-Israel Stance

Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama is currently hiding his anti-Israel views in order to get elected, according to a well-known anti-Israel activist. The activist, Ali Abunimah, claimed to know Obama well and to have met him on numerous occasions at pro-Palestinian events in Chicago.

In an article he penned for the anti-Israeli website Electronic Intifada, Abunimah wrote:

"The last time I spoke to Obama was in the winter of 2004 at a gathering in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. He was in the midst of a primary campaign to secure the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate seat he now occupies. But at that time polls showed him trailing.

"As he came in from the cold and took off his coat, I went up to greet him. He responded warmly, and volunteered, 'Hey, I’m sorry I haven’t said more about Palestine right now, but we are in a tough primary race. I’m hoping when things calm down I can be more up front.' He referred to my activism, including columns I was contributing to the The Chicago Tribune critical of Israeli and US policy [and said:] 'Keep up the good work!'"

Abunimah's report included a photo of Obama with his wife Michelle seated at a table with virulently anti-Israeli Professor Edward Said and his wife Mariam, in what Abunimah said was a May 1998 Arab community event in Chicago at which Said gave the keynote speech.

In an interview earlier this year for the leftist radio show "Democracy Now!," a daily TV and radio news program hosted by Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez, Abunimah said he knew Obama for many years as his state senator "when he used to attend events in the Palestinian community in Chicago all the time."

"I remember personally introducing him onstage in 1999, when we had a major community fundraiser for the community center in Deheisha refugee camp in the occupied West Bank," he recounted. "And that's just one example of how Barack Obama used to be very comfortable speaking up for and being associated with Palestinian rights and opposing the Israeli occupation."

About face 'to get elected'
The Arab-American activist went on to say: "In 2000, when Obama unsuccessfully ran for Congress I heard him speak at a campaign fundraiser hosted by a University of Chicago professor. On that occasion and others Obama was forthright in his criticism of US policy and his call for an even-handed approach to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict."

"Obama's about-face is not surprising," Abunimah wrote. "He is merely doing what he thinks is necessary to get elected and he will continue doing it as long as it keeps him in power."

When Obama first ran for the Senate in 2004, the Chicago Jewish News interviewed him on his stance regarding Israel's security fence. He accused the Bush administration of neglecting the "Israeli-Palestinian" situation and criticized the security fence built by Israel to prevent terror attacks: "The creation of a wall dividing the two nations is yet another example of the neglect of this Administration in brokering peace," Obama was quoted as saying.

Had this story broken prior to the mainstream liberal media finally reporting the truth about Barry Hussein Obama's church affiliation would anyone have paid attention? Probably not. Just a hit piece you would say. Okay, maybe I don't really intend to vote for Obama, the fictitious person would say, but this is not believable. Today however, it is believable. After awhile, when circumstantial evidence starts piling up like a snow drift in Wisconsin, the benefit of the doubt is worn thin revealing that perhaps, the nay sayers may have a point.

Now personally, I learned early on about Obama's church and the Reverend Wright and wondered why the story had no legs. My inner political nerve wants me to say that the timing of the Wright story is merely another merit badge earned for the Clinton political legacy. Hiller'uh's campaign is one foot in the grave and needs to win decisive victories in the upcoming Pennsylvania primary in April(polls) and as many delegates as possible to enter the Democrat National Convention without Obama securing the number of delegates necessary to claim the nomination. The Clinton team wants to make Obama look unelectable in a race against John McCain. The only way to accomplish that feat is to tie him to undesirables. The Clintons know this arena very well and have succeeded playing in it before. If the race is decided at the convention, the atmosphere and game playing is certainly in favor of the Clintons.

Now, add the INN story into the mix. My dear Democrat voting Jews, can you really afford the luxury of supporting Obama when day after day new reports of his honesty and integrity are painting a picture of a man that a rational person must conclude, isn't consistent with the surface appearance? Can an old adage really be true; Don't judge a book buy it's cover? Is the Obama of the political campaign for President the real Obama? Are you so sure that you are willing to take such chances depositing the blood of your brothers in Israel as your collateral?

Mind you, I do not think that a second Clinton Presidency would be preferable to McCain, (chas v'sholom) but if I had to choose between Obama and Hiller'uh its a no-brainer, her hug affair with Suha Arafat not withstanding or forgotten.



Yes, it is Obama's associations with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, Robert Malley, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Samantha Power, Samantha Power and Obama's Foreign Policy Team which make the Ali Abunimah story credible. In the end, it may not be. But in terms of believability, Obama's past and his choice of associates is his worst nightmare. How does one avoid dealing with his past in a political campaign? Ignore it and talk about the future. I pronounce the defendant: Guilty.

Israelis seized nuclear material in Syrian raid

Israeli commandos seized nuclear material of North Korean origin during a daring raid on a secret military site in Syria before Israel bombed it this month, according to informed sources in Washington and Jerusalem.

The attack was launched with American approval on September 6 after Washington was shown evidence the material was nuclear related, the well-placed sources say.

They confirmed that samples taken from Syria for testing had been identified as North Korean. This raised fears that Syria might have joined North Korea and Iran in seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.

Israeli special forces had been gathering intelligence for several months in Syria, according to Israeli sources. They located the nuclear material at a compound near Dayr az-Zwar in the north.

Evidence that North Korean personnel were at the site is said to have been shared with President George W Bush over the summer. A senior American source said the administration sought proof of nuclear-related activities before giving the attack its blessing.

Diplomats in North Korea and China believe a number of North Koreans were killed in the strike, based on reports reaching Asian governments about conversations between Chinese and North Korean officials.

Syrian officials flew to Pyongyang, the North Korean capital, last week, reinforcing the view that the two nations were coordinating their response.

One has to wonder when Jimmah Carter will stop bringing disgrace and disaster to American interests. I would bet that in Carter's mind, the nuclear program of North Korea was a step in the direction toward bringing equality between the poor commie nations and the selfish rich West. In fact, a good "truth test" for Carter would be if he believes that a Syria with nuclear power is a proper step in the process of equality, a matter of balance of power or morally evil. Carter, cannot even now understand that power is not divided equally for a good reason. Power is fate wasted or nurtured not a policy matter or a matter of freedom between nations to be legislated by some international commission.

Power is a necessity in which the freedom loving world must maintain dominance in order to overcome the corrupt destructive instincts of authoritarianism always seeking to grab more and oppress with ruthlessness.

In Carter's insane world view, the Syrians and Palis are oppressed because Israel retains a strategic advantage. In the case of Syria, over the Golan and in the case of the Palis, over the "west bank" a.k.a. Samaria and Judea. No where in Carter's corrupted morality, does real morality ever take hold.

Carter might tell you that imposed equality of incomes, potentials, land, weaponry is moral. In truth, this is "nuts". Intentionally inverting the weak and the strong or maybe better, selectively choosing who is weak and who is strong without consideration of the power of the "weaker" and the relative vulnerability of the "strong" and even the benefits and costs of either one's ultimate preponderance over the other reflects not an educated and erudite wisdom but a silly and formulaic prophesizing.

In Carter's mind, Israel is the behemoth and the Arabians the weak, North Korea, the diminutive little state versus the South Korean colossus client of the US, evil America against almost anyone. Carter selectively chooses his fights by taking the above approach and applying liberation theology, seeking to always make the smaller the oppressed and the bigger the oppressor. When the smaller is not the weaker, one wonders how Carter's mind processes such a phenomena? Carter's and his willing accomplice Slick Willy has set loose upon the world yet another very dangerous set of circumstances. During the Clinton administration, which of these deserving nations became the largest recipient of U.S. foreign aid in the Asia-Pacific region?

(a) The Philippines, longtime friend and ally.

(b) Indonesia, moderate, Muslim and developing.

(c) Cambodia, impoverished and rebuilding.

(d) North Korea, a deranged Stalinist dictatorship that feeds its million-man army while starving its people, that sells ballistic missiles to America's worst enemies and that is building nuclear weapons.

Did I tip my hand?

The great divide in American foreign policy thinking is between those who believe in paper and those who believe in power. The paper school was in charge of the 1990s.

In the 1990s the main objective of Clinton foreign policy was to get as many signatures as possible on as many pieces of paper as possible promising peace and brotherhood. There was a mania for treaties -- on chemical and biological weapons, nuclear proliferation and testing, land mines, antiballistic missiles, climate control. And, of course, treaties with mortal enemies.

Jimmy Carter just won a Nobel Peace Prize for, among other things, his 1994 intervention with the North Korean dictator Kim Il Sung that led to this agreement. Carter had returned from his talks in Pyongyang declaring, "The crisis is over." He was missing only the umbrella. (Carter also enthused that "there is an incredible reverence and exaltation of President Kim Il Sung," author of one of the most grotesque police states in all of history.)

At the time, the New York Times enthusiastically applauded this achievement of peace in our time ("Nuclear Breakthrough in Korea") and praised "U.S. negotiator Robert Gallucci and his North Korean interlocutors" for having "defied impatient hawks and other skeptics who accused the Clinton administration of gullibility and urged swifter, stronger action."

At the time, in this space, I called the agreement "worse than dangerous, it is shameful" and suggested that it should have been signed on the battleship Missouri, as it amounted to unconditional surrender.

Eight years and a few North Korean nukes later, the Times has seen the light. It concludes a deeply disappointed editorial with this priceless discovery: "Keeping nuclear weapons out of the hands of dictators who want them requires more than signed agreements."

The North Korean fiasco was not the only Clintonian attempt at paper diplomacy. The bloodiest farce was the Oslo "peace" between Israel and the Palestinians. President Clinton insisted that it be signed on the White House lawn under his upraised arms. He then spent the next seven years brokering one new agreement after another while declaring the peace irreversible. He knew it was so because Yasser Arafat had promised -- in writing -- an end to violence and terrorism. Then Arafat decided to start up the violence and terrorism in September 2000, bringing on the worst Israeli-Palestinian bloodshed in this hundred-year war and leaving the Clinton paper-pushers surprised.

This is not that hard to figure out. Living by paper -- contracts and laws and courts and binding agreements -- is lovely. It's what makes domestic society civilized and decent. The problem is that the international arena is not domestic society. It is a jungle. It is a state of nature. At home, autoworkers make peace with GM with a signed agreement. That doesn't work with Kim Il Sung, or with his deranged son Kim Jong Il.

Agreements with them or Arafat or Saddam Hussein are not worth the paper they are written on. Laboring over every jot and tittle -- the life work of our paper-pushing peace processors -- is quite mad. The beginning of wisdom is giving up this supremely naive belief in paper.

It is not the end of wisdom, to be sure. It does not answer all questions. But it will keep us from repeating the disasters of the delusional '90s, disasters that haunt our sleep now and will haunt us for decades to come.

Hamas Publishes Fatah Hit-List, Confiscates US-Supplied Weapons

(IsraelNN.com) The civil war between Hamas and Fatah terrorists raged on in Gaza Wednesday, with Hamas on the verge of victory. Hamas seized thousands of weapons and vehicles granted to Fatah by the Oslo Accords.

A Hamas spokesman said that a decision had been taken to kill all of Fatah’s leading officials, who he referred to as “dogs beholden to their Israeli masters.”

Hamas has distributed a list of at least 30 Fatah officials it seeks to have killed for complicity, they say, in a US-backed plan to topple Hamas. The first name is senior Fatah terrorist Mohammed Dahlan, who holds the position of National Security Adviser in the Fatah-Hamas PA unity government. He has been hiding out in Egypt for the past two months. Many of the other Fatah men on the list have fled Gaza.

Hamas took over nearly all Fatah positions in Gaza and confiscated thousands of rifles, tons of ammunition and armored jeeps and APCs supplied by the US, Egypt and Israel over the years.

Eight Fatah men were killed Wednesday morning defending the home of senior Fatah official Mahr Mekhdad – who escaped the fighting. About 200 Hamas terrorists surrounded the home of Yassir Arafat confidant Nabil Shaath – shooting one of his body guards.

PA reports say 15 were injured in Wednesday’s clashes – five civilians. More than 25 people were killed in Tuesday’s clashes totaling more than 66 in recent days.

Tuesday night, senior Fatah commander Jamal Abu Jadian tried to escape a Hamas siege on his northern Gaza home, dressed as a Muslim woman, in full hijab. He took refuge in a nearby hospital, but was spotted by Hamas terrorists, who pumped more than 40 bullets into his head with automatic rifles. He died from the assault.

A close ally of Dahlan’s, Abu Jadian is the third senior Fatah commander to be gunned down in recent clashes.

Hamas has completely taken control of northern Gaza, declaring it closed to members of the Fatah-loyal PA forces. In central Gaza, Hamas took over Fatah Presidential Guard positions with hardly any resistance. A Fatah position controlling Gaza’s main road was also seized and destroyed. The only Fatah presence remaining in Gaza is a few positions in Gaza City.

Fatah terrorists fired an RPG (rocket-propelled grenade) at the home of Hamas’s deputy Information Minister Tuesday, setting it on fire.

PA Foreign Minister Ziad Abu Amr said that the clashes between Fatah and Hamas could be expected to spread to Judea and Samaria as well. Shooting between Fatah and Hamas terrorists has already been reported in Shechem.

Both Fatah’s Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas’s Ismail Haniyeh called for an end to fighting Tuesday. Both had their homes and offices targeted by rival terrorists and the calls of both have been ignored. Abbas called Hamas’s attacks a “bloody coup.”

Fatah has decided to “suspend its participation in the national unity government until the fighting stops,” said a statement following a Fatah session in Ramallah Tuesday.

I have discovered the hard way that giving weapons to terrorists under the assumption that the terrorists will protect the very same populations that the terrorists seek to attack is not realistic (or as dad says "wouldn't be prudent"). Assigning the task of promoting responsible and peaceful co-existence, to violent gang thugs who shake down the citizenry, take their salaries and buy weapons off the top of humanitarian "donations" given by the Jew hating nations of the world, and use armed para-military acting as civil police who seek out "collaborators" with the "Zionist entity", is not a productive use of expensive American foreign policy credibility and treasure.

Think about it George. Maybe you can save some of your legacy by showing you have grown with experience. Don't follow Jimmah Cahr'ter and Emperor Clintonious down the hell hole of historical memory. I know, you didn't begin the process of, not arms for hostages but arms for terrorist thugs. But, it did continue on your watch. While the collapse of Fatah (at least in Gaza) is probably a good thing in a strategic sense for Israel,(after an initial tactical loss) this was not your goal. Maybe history will cut you some slack on that point. But after January 2006 (see Barbarians at the Gates) and your continuing to seek ways of supporting Fatah, all the while knowing that at least in Gaza the Fatah gang was on borrowed time may have appeared in your eyes as an act of loyalty, it was, in reality counter-productive and lacking in reason. The thoughtful thing to do was to cut your losses, concentrate on Yosh and give lip service to Gaza. But you were convinced by arabians who live to avoid humiliation that Gaza was salvagable. This was not true.

I guess one could argue that today's split between Gaza and Yosh was predictable. Maybe this was the reason why Foggy Bottom was opposed to the unilateral Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. The Gaza war would have occurred whether or not Jews were living in a small bloc in ancient Israeli soil. But the withdrawal opened the door for the conflict to begin in earnest. Was this Sharon's goal? Maybe. Was it worth the cost? no, not really because the barbarians would have fought over the money and guns anyhow.

The biggest news of the day has been the claims by Hamas that files, pictures and data that was captured from Fatah "prove" the support given by the US from the CIA and Israel. Well, duh. Since the US support for Abu Mazen has been stated policy, why does this surprise anyone? But for the barbarians all this means is more fun; new collaborators to kill and maim.
