Obama as a candidate was an enigma. He said many things over the course of the campaign and changed the detail of his positions many times. It became too difficult to track the changes in order to measure him. What he could not change however was his past. He never adequately answered for this nor was he effectively challenged by McCain.

Race is never a good reason for political support going in any direction. Exit polls show that more blacks voted in this election than in the previous election and the support for the democrat by this segment increased, implying that your conclusion is correct. Some blacks did vote for Obama specifically because of race.

I would observe and wager that those who voted based upon race would be critical of non-blacks voting because of race. Race, as it has played out in the electoral system has a mixed record in the US. I, for one expected a black American to be elected President during my life time, fully expecting that person to be a Republican. So in Obama winning the election, I am more surprised not by his skin color but at his radical past and leftist campaign promises.

I fully disagree with you that criticism of Obama will lead to charges of racism. (okay maybe initially but not long term) With Obama's election, those charges fall on deaf ears. The barrier has been broken. It is incumbent upon all freedom loving Americans who value liberty to speak openly, honestly, and without hesitation to stand up for what is right.

For America to prosper in the future, the doors to opportunity must be flung wide open. Obama wants to manage outcome, change the balanced playing field to meet guideposts that he sets, and permanently impact the social/government relationship with the citizenry. Americans will need to debate him on the merits of these policies both from a philosophical perspective and likelihood to succeed perspective.

This is the way out of the next four years. America cannot tolerate assassination talk. Obama must be watched, debated, countered, fought and even yelled at, in the political arena of ideas.

Americans are good people even after voting for Obama. I do not hold by what some have written that Americans are stupid. They are not. Americans are idealistic, a value which doesn't have an anchor any more than populism doesn't have an anchor. They can be swayed with good sounding ideas, not because they are stupid but because they are trusting.

i fail to understand how any American could have voted for Obama knowing what he stands for. He has ties to socialism, friends who are terrorists, and a pastor who hates whites and damns America.
The fact that he is black is not enough of a reason to vote for him. He obviously has an agenda and it's not equal rights for all Americans. God help us for the next four years.
If he gets assassinated, that will only make him a martyr like King. Anyone who opposses him is automatically racist. This is a no win situation.

Well, there it is. The half-hearted rationale for “dis-inviting” Governor Palin.

If the organizers of this protest think for a moment, however, that they can delude us into believing that this slap in the face to Governor Palin is nothing more than an "effort to keep the focus on Iranian threats", they are very sadly mistaken. Most of us are far less gullible than that.

No doubt, the presence of both Mrs. Clinton & Governor Palin would have been an overwhelming example of political solidarity against the fanatical regime in Iran. But, for reasons beyond understanding, Mrs. Clinton decided that sharing the stage with Mrs. Palin was not politically advantageous.

But even least sophisticated among us realize that Sarah Palin’s presence, albeit without Mrs. Clinton, would have drawn cameras from around the world to the event. And that those cameras would have broadcast a loud, clear, unified rejection of the Iranian regime. To say that Governor Palin’s presence would, “obscure” that “critical message” is utter nonsense. It would have done exactly & precisely the opposite.

I would have thought that, as members of the Jewish Community , the organizers of this protest would have been a bit more serious about the very real threats that face Israel. And concerns, such as offending the political sensibilities of Mrs. Clinton or the Democratic Party, were not of paramount importance. Evidently, that is not the case.

Unfortunately, Rabbi Shmotkin's comments are buried deeply into the article.

I'm not quite sure what you mean my addressing me personally, perhaps the reference is in a previous post?

I understand that a lot of the Chabad rabbis who are in our communities across the country are good people. I have personally been affected by their good souls and their great lessons. Unfortunately, those good souls have been overshadowed by the evil of the Messianic Chabadniks who are polluting the memory of the Rebbe by insisting he is some sort of demi-god, someone who never dies and who will rise again. Sound familiar?

Unless those good rabbis start to speak out honestly and clearly against the Messianic Chabad yellow-flag waving nuts who were featured in the article I posted, they are going to be painted with the same yellow brush.

If you are committed to the memory of the Rebbe as the Tzadik he was, then it is your responsibility, and the responsibility of every Chabad rabbi to reclaim your movement from these people by speaking clearly, openly, and definitely; by getting your message in print; and by making no exceptions for those who have strayed from the derekh.

Too many Chabad rabbis are sitting on the fence, refusing to come clean about their beliefs. They state to one congregant that the Rebbe is the Moshiac, to another that the Rebbe is not. They wear a yellow flag on their lapel at certain events, but take it off when they are addressing Jewish groups, teaching children, and interacting in our communities. This double-life brings nothing but distrust, and main-stream rabbis have started to quietly warn Jews about what is going on with Chabad.

Enough of this nuanced garbage. The sin of worshiping a man is a grave one. It is a pagan belief and has no place in anything called Judaism.

It is time that those who are of the "Rebbe Never Died and is the Moschiac" group are called out and cut off in order to save what is left of Chabad's reputation in the Jewish World.

Go ahead and make remarks and snear at me. The only reason you are upset is that you know I am right.

I don't hate Chabad, but I do hate the sins of those who have turned to Avodah Zarah. They need to be turned around hard.
